Take a Stand

I. Life is full of choices
   A. We must choose what we do with our lives
   B. who we live with
   C. what we believe

II. We must choose what we will follow
   A. Elijah in 1 Kings 18
      1. Will Israel follow God or Baal?
      2. A contest
         a. God wins
   B. Regardless, Israel chooses Baal
      1. Their kingdom wiped out due to their idolatry (2 Kings 17:7-18)
      2. Judah followed in their footsteps, and is taken captive by Babylon 
      (2 Chronicles 36:15-17)
      3. Israel chose poorly

III. Who will we choose?
   A. Jesus gives us a choice
      1. Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13
      2. God or mammon, earthly things?
   B. Mammon
      1. not just riches, but all worldly things
      2. money, fame, lusts, in short=sin
   C. Do not waver between the two, make a decision
      1. Choose wisely, and remember the Israelites
      2. You will be judged on your decision
         a. Matthew 19:23-24
      3. Matthew 16:26-27

IV. The Choice
   A. You can live a life with God or in sin
      1. the first leads to eternal life, love from the Father (John 15:10)
      2. the latter leads to death, the loss of the soul
   3. Who will you choose today?
