Brethren,

Greetings.

Peace, mercy, and grace be with you all from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are rather glad to see February departing; we've had enough snow and cold weather to last us until next winter. We eagerly look forward to spring!

Working with the Brethren

While there were certain parts of the month when travel was difficult and most stayed in on account of cold and/or snow, things are going better with spending time with the brethren. We've had multiple opportunities to spend time with the brethren, and have spent some time visiting some of the older and more shut-in brethren. We expect to continue this in the future.

Lessons and Classes

Many of the lessons this month have focused on particular texts and drawing application, including four lessons focusing on the parable of the sower, material on Lot's wife, among others. The lessons, as always, are available in outline and mp3 form at norwalkchurch.org.

We have continued the adult class discussing the major doctrinal issues that come up when presenting the Gospel. We are having good discussion and I am pleased to see the retention of the basics of the material presented so far.

The Tuesday night Bible studies continue on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, focusing on the post-exilic period, studying Ezra, Haggai, Nehemiah, and Esther.

Evangelism

Unfortunately, the inclement weather conditions in February prevented us from knocking on any doors. We hope to again knock doors in March.

Meanwhile, I have begun the tract program. I have written tracts on God's plan of salvation and a guide to our assemblies; I intend to write a tract approximately every other week for the near future. We have paper versions available at the building, and I have established an e-tract section of our website (E-Tracts) for electronic distribution, either as a webpage or an e-mail.

The Christians here are also doing well in their attempts in trying to communicate the Gospel to their family and friends. We have some consistent visitors because of their efforts, and we hope to continue to work with them.

Current Studies

As with everything else this month, studies were interrupted by the weather, among other things. We hope that this changes next month.

  1. Cindy. Things are going well with Cindy; we continue to study in John.

  2. Ben and Katie. Ben and Katie had their baby boy on February 15. They have decided that Katie will cease working and will stay at home with the children, and we have every expectation that such will lead to better attendance and association with us. Their extended family has suffered a terrible tragedy recently, and we ask that you pray for them.

  3. Debbie. Debbie's father had a heart attack earlier in the month, and because of that and various illnesses, we have not been able to get together to study this month. Things are looking up for March.

Support

I would like to thank all of you for your participation in the work here in Norwalk, either through your prayers or through encouraging me or through financial support. I would like to solicit your continual prayers so that the work here may prosper.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirits.
