Brethren,
Greetings.
Peace, mercy, and grace be with you all from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
A new year begins with fresh possibilities. We hope all is well with all of you.
Working with the Brethren
Most people have "settled in" for the winter, but the brethren are still interacting often. We have hosted some game nights in January and have enjoyed other times we have spent with brethren.
Other opportunities for interaction have been brought up, and it appears that some of the brethren will begin having a monthly "movie night" that will focus on either a Biblically-themed or spiritually-themed movie. Many are interested in this option, and a few brethren have offered to open up their homes.
Lessons and Classes
This month's morning lessons in Norwalk addressed various topics, including discipleship, gossip, and understanding John 3:14. In the evening we have continued our analysis of the virtues and values that should mark the Christian with longsuffering, kindness, and goodness. The lessons, as always, are available in outline and mp3 form at norwalkchurch.org.
We are continuing the class on the Minor Bible Characters. Interest and participation are high.
Our monthly study was again well-attended and involved the afterlife.
The Ladies' Bible classes have also restarted.
Evangelism
We will knock doors again in March, Lord willing, since the winter has been fairly cold this year. We have created a new handout, "Who is Jesus of Nazareth?" to distribute in our door knocking endeavors.
We are also looking forward to endeavors later this year--gospel meetings and the fair--and considering how we can make these works more effective for the purposes of the Kingdom.
