Main purpose of the text: one considering following Christ 1. One must count the cost 2. A lot of effort, sacrifice, and difficulty 3. The other path is easier on earth…but not for eternity (Romans 6:23)! II. Application A. Just as it is necessary to count the cost when we decide to follow Christ, we need to continue to make "checkups" on progress and purpose! 1. When building, constantly making sure that resources are present and following plan 2. In war, must make sure that objectives are being achieved and plans followed or changed if necessary B. Likewise, we as Christians must consider ourselves constantly according to the Word (2 Corinthians 13:5) C. Have you recently done some self-consideration? Have you recently counted the cost? D.
